The World Digital Library is an international project created under the auspices of UNESCO and with the support of the US Library of Congress. It was launched in 2009 and is designed to provide free access to cultural treasures and historical documents from around the world. The main goals of the site:
- Expanding access to knowledge: The platform provides digital copies of manuscripts, maps, books, photographs and other historically significant objects.
